Indoor Living Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established Indoor Living and Gift department at our family-owned, independent garden centre.
As Department Manager, you will be responsible for buying and overseeing the merchandising of all Indoor Living products which include Giftware, Houseplants, Greetings Cards and Clothing, therefore strong experience in this field is essential.
Knowledge of Epos systems, together with Microsoft/Word/Excel is required. You will need excellent administration and communication skills and will deal with suppliers, to ensure we receive the best quality, prices and levels of service. Working toward team targets, you will lead the team, further developing the strength of the department. Excellent knowledge of houseplants and horticulture will be a distinct advantage.
An integral part of the management team, you will have strong communication skills and a focus on driving the business forward, as part of the wider Burston ‘family’. Following a period of induction, you will be required to act as a duty manager on a rotation basis and accept keyholding responsibilities.
Opening hours at our centre are 8.30am to 5.30pm March-December and 9-5 January & February; you will be expected to be onsite by 8.15am. This is a full-time position working alternate weekends, with a day off during the week. Holiday entitlement starts on 28 days, with no holidays authorised from mid-March – mid-June or December, due to seasonal trends within the industry.
A full driver’s licence is required.
